    Great way to clearly ID caliber

    It's a port cover - it does what it's supposed to, but additionally it helps reduce the possibility of mixing 5.56 and .300 BLK by clearly identifying the caliber of the firearm. This can be an issue if you have several similar firearms or people unfamiliar with them.
