This complete 16-inch M-LOK upper receiver comes with our RTB 15-inch free float handguard and is built with only the best mil-spec components. The heart of this upper is comprised of a 4150 barrel and the bolt is made of all stainless steel construction and we use an anti-jam dedicated 22 charging handle.

AMMO RECOMMENDATION: For in-house testing, we utilize CCI .22LR Mini-Mag 36 Grain Copper-Plated Hollow Point Varmint Ammo (1,260 FPS). We highly recommend this ammunition for use with all RTB .22 uppers. It is important to note that the use of underpowered or economy-grade ammunition may lead to less-than-optimal performance outcomes.

Uppers may present light fouling from our quality control process and/or test firing

Although .22lr AR builds do not utilize the functionality of a buffer or buffer spring, we still recommend using both to provide a stopping point/wall that prevents the 22 bolt carrier from moving rearward. Using a buffer and buffer spring will prevent light primer strikes. This is true for all Ciener/Atchisson 22 pattern platforms.

    Complete 16" .22LR Lightweight Upper Receiver

    After 300+ rounds, this upper has functioned flawlessly. It was purchased for my Grandson to get more practice and I am confident that it will fill the bill. At 1/2 the cost of the other brands I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

    RTB Complete 16” 22LR upper

    Bought this item as a back up for steel challenge. Wasn’t sure what to expect, however after several test runs and short break-in period this upper has proven to be very reliable. Upon receipt, I cleaned the barrel thoroughly and did a light lubrication. Ran several hundred rounds of different popular brands of HV ammo, had not a single malfunction. Also used 3 different brands of mags all proved reliable with this upper. Will most likely purchase another in 9mm when I get a chance.

    Worth the extra over other RTB 22's

    I was really happy I sprung a little more for this particular upper- the rail is really well done, and contributes to it feeling like a real 5.56. It's balanced more like a 14.5" or 13.9" with the chamber so much farther back, and the pencil barrel... Which so far, has been plenty accurate in the backyard with cci quiet (almost cycles with suppressor) I expect 40 gr subsonic may function 90%, but at matches I'd trust automatch at a minimum. Excellent fit & finish- I think CMMG is nowhere near worth the increased price on a rimfire! I considered every option available and this was definitely the barrel for my use; why not get this complete upper at that price?! The only weak point is the solid plastic charging handle, just for being a little catchy on the latch although I think the solidity is probably ok (won't be mortaring rounds out of this little guy). As a last point, the muzzle is fairly flush with the end of the 15" rail, so you may have to remove that to get the flash hider off (well torqued).

    Very good

    Finish is very nice. Functions well. I'm very happy with this. The only nitpick I have is the hinge lug pin(pin closest to the barrel) is VERY tight. (better tight then loose IMHO)

    Awesome Upper

    Almost a 1000rds before first failure. As expected extractor failed and jammed a spent case. As everyone else suggested I got a Borebuddy hardened extractor when I bought the upper. Just ran the stock until it failed. Using Black Dog Magazines and Borebuddy reliability kit. Shoots 1/4”-1/2” groups at 25yd with Fed Auto Match and CCI standard. Very happy with the upper.
