Right To Bear Lightweight 16" Mid-Length Pencil Barrel 5.56

This 5.56 chambered 16" Pencil Profile Barrel is machined from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel with a QPQ Corrosion Resistant Finish and QPQ coated M4 feed ramp extension.

Quench Polish Quench (QPQ) is a specialized type of nitrocarburizing case hardening that increases corrosion resistance. It is also known by the brand names of H&M Blacknitride+ (black nitride), Tufftride, Tenifer, or Melonite. QPQ is a huge improvement over chrome lined barrels. Unlike chrome lining, where the chrome is built up on the surface, QPQ converts the surface without the risk of dimensional build up.  QPQ makes your gun’s metal 10 times stronger than it was originally, increases the velocity of your barrel by a few hundred feet-per-second, and slickens the surface to make your gun extremely lubricated.

    Excellent barrels!

    I just bought 2 more of these (in mid-length this time, last time was the carbine gas version). I bought the first barrel largely because it was on a screaming great sale, and I was building a budget/spare rifle. It was/is a great barrel, regardless of the price, and they are still on sale, so I had no qualms whatsoever about ordering 2 more for my latest builds. Both barrels arrived yesterday, and appear to be just as good as the first one. The outside fit and finish perfect, no imperfections that I could find anywhere. The bolt extensions did not have any sharp edges, the feed ramps were nice and smooth, no roughness at all. Looking at them with the bore scope, the rifling on both was well cut and reasonably smooth, no tooling/chatter marks. Chamber and leade were also good (one a touch rougher than the other, but both are good to go). I don't mean to say these are on par with a glassy-smooth hand-lapped stainless match barrel, don't get me wrong, but for 'rack grade' 4150 nitirde, this is as good as it gets. Weight came in on the nose as advertized at 23.0 ounces. So, only a sample size of 3, but all three are super solid barrels and I will buy more in the future.

    I am an internet hound for the best prices. Am 99.99% certain this barrel is from a famous top tier American barrel manufacturer. Saw it for sale for over $150.00 elsewhere. This is one of those "must buy" deals. And yes, it was flawless.

    Fine barrel

    Looks identical to the BA 16" Pencil profile barrel, and weighs the same. Pretty sure it's the same barrel. If it is a 'seconds', I can't tell by shooting it, because it shoots great. Cosmetically it was perfect. No blemish or anything. For what it's worth, I don't shoot for groups, I shoot steel to 400 yards, and even with 3x power scope and range brass (55 FMJs) reloads, I've got no trouble hitting 3 and 4 MOA plates at speed. The barrel itself can probably do 1 MOA as the manufacturer states, given proper ammo etc., but if you're looking at lighter weight barrels you're probably not looking for teeny, tiny groups anyhow.

    Amazing

    For the money it can NOT be beat, just buy it you won’t regret it. For those wondering no it is not dimpled but that is a good thing. Depending on your gas block spacing it could put you in the wrong spot, buy a dimple jig and do it yourself.

    My barrel came with a Ballistic Advantage label on it. Looks exactly like my other BA pencil barrel. Love it!
