It runs best with a 90- to 129-grain projectile. Handloaders can fine-tune their loads to get the most from the rifle. The 20" 6.5 Grendel barrel from Right to Bear offers 1:8 twist in a gas-operated barrel. The 20-inch barrel delivers more velocity than a 16" barrel while maintaining the compact length many shooters prefer in their AR.

This barrel has a Grendel Type 2 chamber, which delivers the original performance the developers had in mind. This Ballistic Advantage 6.5 Grendel SPR barrel has a heavier profile than a standard AR rifle. The 6.5 Grendel 20-inch barrel in this heavier configuration is preferred for target shooting.
